With that said, we had a quick chat with the guys at Soweto Gold ahead of the festival:

How excited are you guys to be part of Capital Craft Beer Festival 2019?

This is the best, most professional craft beer fest in SA. And the guests are amazing. And thirsty.
The best breweries are represented. The best food stalls and great entertainment.

What beers are you bringing to the festival? And which are you most excited to serve to the people?

We are bringing our entire stable of universally quaffable yet uniquely Kasi beer styles. Our award-winning golden Lager, our delectable Cherry Ale, our spicy Gogo’s Ginger, the complex Orlando Stout.
And all new for the festival we have concocted a tangy Lemon n’ Lime Ale.

What makes a craft beer festival such a rad jol for you?

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing your customer in the eye as they gulp on your spritzy wares. The one-on-one interactions with thousands of customers on one day…priceless.

Which of the other brewers are you keen on having a few beers with at the festival?

The craft beer community is a friendly bunch, and we look forward to having a chug with Ross from Jack Black, Brendon from Copperlake, Imke from Brauhaus…the list is long.

Why should people have a few beers at your stall at Capital Craft Beer Festival 2019?

Our beers always sell very well at CCBF because they are sessional, easy-drinking, universally quaffable and totally uni-sex and LBGTQ friendly.

Why do you think craft beer festivals are a necessity in South Africa?

Beer festivals set the tone for friendly carefree interaction, for trying new things, experiencing great entertainment, outdoorsy soul-searching and escapism.
