With that said, we had a quick chat with the guys behind Soweto Brewing Co:

What can people expect from Soweto Brewing Co at the festival?

We are bringing the best from our stable of uniquely eKasi yet universally quaffable beers.

We are confident that our “Master’s Brew – Original Lager” will again be Best on Show…gratifying the insatiable thirst of Pretoria.
This year we will mix it up and we are presenting our childishly delicious ‘Spicy Cherry Ale’ – one of our best concoctions to date, a mixture of spicy ginger beer and sweet ripe cherry ale. [not for sale to persons <18]

And confidentially, we can whisper that we have a rare and limited edition batch of “Whiskey Barrel Aged Smoke Beer”…maturing quietly in a dark cellar.

Your stand was pumping last year at the festival. What makes Soweto Brewing Co such a hit at Capital Craft Beer Festival in your opinion?

Pretoria loves our beers, we are uncomplicated – we don’t take ourselves too seriously, and we produce drink-all-day-playful-beverages.
We have a great story – Born eKasi, brewed for all! – and a great liquid.

What makes Capital Craft Beer Festival such a lekker festival for you?

This is one of our highlights of the year.

Sunny Pretoria, great entertainment, great people in a great mood…drinking our cold wares…a world-class festival.
The festival guests are serious about their beer and their gees. We open the taps at the opening and keep ’em pouring until the end.
Last year was epic, we even had to do a 200km round trip to Soweto to fetch more beer…and I know that the Capital Crafties are going to pull out all the stops to make this year even hotter, better and wetter.

Which of the other brewers at the festival are you keen on sharing a few beers with?

We love beer and we love good friends… we hope to drink with old friends and toast new ones.

Why do you think craft beer festivals are a necessity in South Africa?

We need happiness, optimism, and joy in our lives. Beer festivals bring all of that and Capital Craft is the king of beer fests.
