With that said, we had a quick chat behind the guys at Zwakala Brewery ahead of this rad #jol…

How excited are you guys to be part of Capital Craft Beer Festival 2019?

YOH! Zwakala is too keen. This festival is unique and we love being a part of it!

What beers are you bringing to the festival? And which are you most excited to serve to the people?

We are bringing our whole range plus a new England IPA that we will be brewing in the next week.

What makes a craft beer festival such a rad jol for you?

The diversity of music, the location & the beer drinkers who are genuinely so keen to try new beers, meet the brewers & have a party.

Which of the other brewers are you keen on having a few beers with at the festival?

Shaun from Standeven – he didn’t make the brewers wedding so he owes the team quite a few beers. We are not too sure who else is coming but the brewers know where the after party is at 🙂

Why should people have a few beers at your stall at Capital Craft Beer Festival 2019?

We are the most northern brewery in South Africa so instead of traveling to Limpopo, it’s the perfect opportunity to taste our beer and meet our brewing team in Gauteng. Our Weekend Special is a party starter and nobody can leave this festival without trying it! It has 7 different types of hops & at 6.5% it is bound to make anybody’s weekend special. Zwakala embodies the ethos of togetherness and we love meeting beer lovers!

Why do you think craft beer festivals are a necessity in South Africa?

We love diversity, and the craft beer festivals are just getting better & better! Craft beer festivals bring the whole industry together to celebrate the most important reason why we are in this field; the Beer! It’s great to see what other breweries are brewing up and to meet the newbies in the scene because that’s where we were 3 years ago. Craft beer festivals also go against the grain – there is so much being offered in terms tasting new beers, chatting to brewers & meeting beer industry leaders. They nourish our passion for beer.
