While A Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween and Texas Chain Saw Massacre have all been remade, the Child’s Play (Chucky) franchise continues to remain original.

Don Mancini, who created the Child’s Play franchise and directed the previous two entries, has always been vocal that he intends on making a seventh Chucky film. The last film was The Curse of Chucky, which was kind of a disappointment.

Just the other day things got interesting when Mancini tweeted out to Jennifer Tilly – who first made an appearance in the 1998 classic Bride of Chucky as Chucky’s partner in crime, Tiffany – asking if they should film the next Chucky in Cape Town.

Tilly responded, pointing out that the crews are great out there, as well as the weather.

How will it all come together? Chucky in Cape Town? All jokes, or is this for real? That’s what we have to look forward to with Child’s Play 7. Chucky does the Mountain?

In case you didn’t know who or what Chucky is, here’s a little breakdown:

Charles Lee Ray (also known as “The Lakeshore Strangler”, and nicknamed “Chucky”) is a fictional character and the titular antagonist of the Child’s Play horror film series. Chucky is portrayed as a notorious serial killer whose spirit inhabits a fictional “Good Guy” doll and continuously tries to transfer his soul from the doll to a human body. The character has become one of the most recognizable horror icons, often mentioned alongside Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, Regan MacNeil and Michael Myers, and has been referenced numerous times in pop culture. In 1999, the Chucky character was nominated for the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain for the film Bride of Chucky. He was created by Don Mancini and is portrayed and voiced by Brad Dourif in both live-action and voice-over. He was modeled after the story of Robert the Doll.

Relax! We all know it was all fun and games, the movie will probably be filmed in ‘MURICA!
