Thanks for chatting with us! First things first, how did you come up with the name, Sir Thomas Brewing Co. Sir Thomas Brewing Co. was founded in 2013 by two long-time friends after an epiphany during a surf session in the seawaters of Pringle Bay. Soon after, the dream developed into a profession and full-time craft brewery. As the idea originated in the small holiday town of Pringle Bay, it was only fitting to name the brewery after the father of Pringle Bay, Royal Navy Commander-in chief of the British navy, Sir Thomas Pringle. Since then the brewery has been taken over from them and the quest to brew real craft beer in the Cape Winelands is still being realised. Why do you think Craft Beer Festivals are a necessity in South Africa? So that all the craft breweries can come together and celebrate the great existence of craft beer. And also to educate the beer enthusiasts of South Africa. What is your favorite type of beer? And why? (Yes, we know it’s a tough one) A crisp beer that burst with flavour 🙂 What beers will you have on offer at the festival to all the fans? Brand new honey lager and a Sir Thomas specialty beer, along with all the previous range of beer. Mmm. Sounds good! What is the most important thing to remember when brewing beer? It’s an art that incorporates the finest of quality ingredients and consistency (doing it right when no one is looking) What makes the craft beer scene in the Western Cape special to you? It’s a growing industry that forms a family, where each brewery is unique and brewing due to the love of craft beer. How would you describe the first sip of a Sir Thomas Brewing Co. Beer? It will knock the Sir of Sir Thomas right back into you. Haha! How can people get hold of you after the festival? Can come and visit us at our hide-out/tasting room on Summerhill Wine farm or; visit our webpage at www.sirthomasbrew.com /facebook /Instagram #twitter Thanks for the chat. Be sure to check out this lekker festival!
