When (now legendary) South African bands like Taxi Violence, Fokofpolisiekar, Freshlyground and Flash Republic first started out ten years ago, porkrock had already been whipping even the most cynical of audiences into a frenzy of chaos for ten years. The #HogsAreBack in 2015 to deliver another wave of renowned energetic live performances that has proven its ability worldwide time and time again.

Hog Hoggidy Hog started out in 1995 (20 friggin years ago!) when the punk scene of South Africa as they knew it consisted of them and 4 friends. Since then the scene has exploded and the Hogs, who have gained legendary status in South Africa, played a fundamental part in its development. The Hogs together with PHFAT and Fuzigish will be bringing the house down in classic form at The Assembly in Cape Town on May 29th. Old and new fans can ready themselves for their favorite underground punk/ska band who will once again combine their blazing energy and total chaos with the fresh sound that is unmistakably and uniquely Hog Hoggidy Hog. The best of the Hogs will also be seen live in Johannesburg and Durban after they unleash the chaos in Cape Town as part of a series of massive live performances. A special video teaser will also be released on their social channels on Friday, so keep an eye out.

Oh! It’s definitely ON – The #HogsAreBack and they remain an institution in the South African music industry, one that is certainly here to stay.

Don’t miss the biggest comeback this year, catch the Hogs porkin’ it out at The Assembly in three and a half weeks’ time on May 29th.

After 20 years, Hog Hoggidy Hog have earned their title as the daddios of punk rock in South Africa and are bringing the punk back to SA’s stage this year with quite a few other exciting projects lined up for 2015. More to be revealed soon…
