Oppikoppi: Nomakanjani is coming for you! South Africa’s iconic music festival is going down in August, and we urge you to write it down in your diary!! We here at Why Ed are already preparing ourselves by trying to sleep on nothing but thorns and screaming “Koppi” 259 times in a row. With that said, we’re asking Oppikoppi artists 7 questions about the festival, and sommer delving into past experiences. Their answers may serve you well in the quest to make your very own Oppikoppi experience one of the most memorable. We had a chat with Riaan from Crimson House. Lekkerness! How would you explain to someone the difference between Kreef and Mordor? Kreef is more like the shire… Who is the best Oppikoppi-wingman you’ve ever had? And why was he/she so good? Chris Thunder-Walt from the Bones, you want that guy on your side at any festival. What has been your fondest memory of Oppikoppi? The sunset from the Top bar, the dust in the sky makes the sunset that looks like it was hand painted by the hand of God. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever given you before or after a show? A tattoo… Which band would you most like to have a few beers with at Oppikoppi this year, and why? Zebra, those are some fun dudes to get messy with. Where is the best place at Oppikoppi to wind down, or have a few beers with the mates? Wind down? Haha, that’s hard to do at Koppi, but I would say the campsite, most likely the artist camp because that is where you find jam sessions and wounded soldiers. What can people expect from Crimson House at Oppikoppi this year? Better limber up before our show because the bounce will be real, this show is worth 3 hours of cross-fit in 45 minutes. We would like to thank Riaan and the rest of the crew for their time! Be sure to watch Crimson House perform and blow your mind at Oppikoppi!
