The Oddworld series had been pretty quiet in recent years up until 2014, when Oddworld Inhabitants released a remade version of the classic first entry with Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty!. Before that, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath was released in 2005.

However, this all led up to the announcement back in 2017 that the series would return with Oddworld: Soulstorm! And now, at GDC 2019, Oddworld Inhabitants have revealed a brand-new trailer for the game. In addition to that, the devs have also released a making-of video for the trailer, as well as a rendering comparison of one of the characters in the game.

Speaking of which, here’s the brief synopsis from the official site:

“Witness Abe’s horrifying conflict with a terrifying new machination. A fresh narrative – a complete story retake inspired by our original tale. A big visual and cinematic leap aiming to break new ground for Oddworld. Intelligent new mechanics, twisted new devices enabling highly explosive deviousness. A dark parable that tells an epic tale of a volatile society pushed to its limits.”

No release date or platform(s) for Oddworld: Soulstorm have yet to be announced.
