The new trailer for Suicide Squad was released… and wow! We’re blown away. Suicide Squad looks like it could wind up being Warner Bros. and DC Comics’ Guardians of the Galaxy. Which will be an amazing achievement for DC, as they are left a bit behind in their Cinematic Universe by Marvel Studios.

The footage starts off with the amazing sound of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and that by itself does an amazing job setting the tone – making Suicide Squad look simultaneously intense and jaw-dropping. The jokes are great in the trailer, but we’re hoping for more. Margot Robbie obviously stands out as the Harley Quinn, and we are even interested in Will Smith’s character in the film.

Written and directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad is based on the DC Comics of the same name, and begins as government official Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) starts a special program involving incarcerated supervillains. She approaches multiple dangerous and deadly individuals in their cells and makes them an offer: their prison sentences will be reduced provided that they take part in a Black Ops mission that could wind up costing them their lives. Before long, Waller creates a team that includes the likes of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Slipknot (Adam Beach), Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), and Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman). Together they will go out to save the world… in their own special fashion. In case you haven’t noticed, Jared Leto (The Joker) is most of the time far removed from the action and even in the poster above. We can only guess that his screen time will be limited and he will be locked up 50% of the time.

Suicide Squad is naturally one of the most anticipated 2016 blockbusters, but this trailer ensures that we will be definitely checking it out come August 5th. Oppikoppi, you will have to wait a bit. Check it out below:
