Great news for music lovers in Cape Town! The popular Liefde by die Dam concert that is held annually at Emmarentia Dam in Johannesburg, will now also be presented in the Western Cape, at Meerendal, on Saturday November 17th. Liefde by die Dam, named after Valiant Swart’s famous hit song with the same name, strives to serve as a platform to showcase the best local music. The program features music for young and old, which makes it an ideal day out with your family or ‘bes-ties’.

Eight top South African artists and bands will be performing in the lovely picnic-style setting. The MC will be the popular Afrikaans comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout.

A concert with a phenomenal line up that also aims to pay some love forward. The Johannesburg Liefde by die Dam event teamed up with Liefde Wen to collect blankets for the less privileged after the concert. They received approximately 800 blankets at this year`s event. The same initiative will also be coordinated at Liefde by die Dam Meerendal. Bring your own picnic blanket and leave it behind after the concert. The Liefde Wen team will make sure that the blankets find new homes where needed.”

For your day out at the dam there will be a delicious range of South Africa’s best artisan food traders. You can also bring your own picnic baskets.

With that said, we had a quick chat with Early B ahead of Liefde by die Dam!

Hey man. Thanks for making time to have a quick chat. How excited are you to be part of Liefde by die Dam in Cape Town?

I am so amped to do my performance at Liefde by die Dam. It will be my very first time performing at the festival and seeing that it’s the first time it’s in Cape Town I feel like the festival will be one for the books.

What can people expect from Early B at Liefde by die Dam?

The people are in for a treat! I am bringing all my tools, catchy rhymes, lekker beats and a energetic performance to keep the crowd going!

There will probably be a few collaborations on stage at Liefde by die Dam this year. Any hints on what we can expect from you?

There will definitely be collaborations this year at the fest, I will be on stage with a few of my friends, they are Gevaarlik and straight from Bellville!

Hell yeah! You’ve made a few tracks with some of the biggest artists in South Africa. How has the experience been on working with some of these artists?

It’s humbling for me, these are guys I truly respect, not for just being the biggest artists in SA but for the people they are while being the biggest artists in SA.

What makes you excited about being an artist in South Africa?

What really makes me excited about being an artist in SA is that I can do my music in my language I feel completely comfortable with the way I use it because I know people will appreciate it because Afrikaans is so diverse and at the same time relatable to everybody.

That’s so awesome! What is next for Early B?

Music Videos, I am so excited to bring my stories and music to life by means of Videos, because listening to something is one thing but seeing and listening to what is said just brings a greater touch to it.

Any last words for the fans hitting up Liefde by die Dam in Cape Town?

They should make sure they are Familiar with my debut album “Aangeneme Kennis” because I will be performing some of those tracks. But if not, they shouldn’t stress because I will have the CD available at the Festival too.
