SAMA nominated rock band CrashCarBurn has joined forces with award winning rapper Kwesta in one of the hottest collaborations of 2014. ‘Keep Walking’ can be described as a genuine crossover single that merges CrashCarBurn’s soaring rock choruses with the authentic rap that has earned Kwesta much critical acclaim. “It was always our intention to hook up with a hip hop artist on this track. We have been in talks with Kwesta for about 5 years and we’re super-excited that it has finally happened,” said Garth Barnes, front man of CrashCarBurn, “We sent him the demo and I remember getting goose bumps when he sent his part back to me – his lyrics are brutally honest and relevant – exactly what the track needed.” ‘Keep Walking’ is a tale of perseverance and triumph over adversity no matter what shape or form life’s challenges may take. The track features traditional African drums and chanting mixed with edgy rock instrumentation, which in principle shouldn’t work together, but in this instance they compliment each other perfectly. Kwesta switches between English and Zulu adding to the powerful universal message behind he tune. CrashCarBurn is known for hits such as ‘Serenade’, ‘Twisted’ and ‘The Light” and has performed at the likes of My Coke Fest and Oppikoppi. Kwesta is currently up for Best Rap Album at the 2014 SAMA awards and recently scooped ‘Best Hip Hop’ album at the 2014 Metro Awards. ‘Keep Walking’ is available for download on all major digital platforms.
