Melos South Africa is bringing Maribou State HERE this December.

Their sound is eclectic, downtempo and steeped in classic hip-hop and their new album is basically updated trip-hop. They`re the discotheque trailblazer duo that will make everyone`s night, and they will be performing with Felix Laband, Christian Tiger School, PHFat, Akio, DJ Lag, Kidfonque, Nonku Phiri, and P-Kuttah. This event will set the rhythm for a superb summer season.

Maribou State is originally from London and has built a glowing international reputation via a string of well-loved EPs as well as remixes for the likes of Kelis, Lana Del Rey, Alpines, Ultraista and more. They have also received great support from radio heavyweights Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Pete Tong and more. They have also performed at Glastonbury, Warehouse Project and Bestival which are their personal highlights.

With that said, we had a chat with the guys from Christian Tiger School.

Thanks for the time to chat. How are you feeling about the two upcoming shows?

We’re really excited! We’ve recently put together a new live show which has given us the freedom to play new and older material in an exciting live format.

What can people expect from Christian Tiger School?

A lot of new music, most of it being unreleased, as well as a few familiar tracks.

Which of the acts are you keen on sharing the stage with?

We’ve shared bills with most of these acts so we’re excited to catch everyone’s set. DJ Lag and Nonku Phiri will definitely be great to watch again.

Two shows in two days, what happens during those hours in between the sets?

A lot of packing and setting up. We’ll most likely be relaxing and drinking coffee where possible.

What makes you excited about being an artist in South Africa?

There’s tons of influence all around us. There’s also less importance being placed on external validation so we are becoming a very tight-knit creative community.

Your new record is coming out in a few weeks, what can your fans expect from the album?

It’s a physical release of a track we put out earlier this year but with some amazing remixes on the B side.

What does the future hold for Christian Tiger School?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Where can people find you after your performances?

At the nearest window.

Haha! Be sure to book your spot today and be part of the #jol.
