This September, the 4th annual Blood Brothers return to the stage with the common goal of rock ’n rolling against cancer.

2018’s line-up for South Africa’s elite supergroup has been meticulously selected, with old favourites being joined by some of the country’s most exciting, young songwriters and performers.

For 4 years running and still rocking harder than ever, Francois van Coke (Fokofpolisiekar and Van Coke Kartel) is still here and for good reason. He is joined by fellow alumni, Hanu De Jong (The Narrow and Not My Dog), Jason Oosthuizen (Lost&Found), Jaco Mans (Coelacanth and Ex Tidal Waves) and Chris Van Der Walt (The Black Cat Bones, Boargazm and Vulvodynia). For the very first time and a musician that needs no introduction to any rock ’n roller worth their salt, Blood Brothers welcome Laudo Liebenberg (aKing), as well as South African rock royalty Ard Matthews (Just Jinjer), destroyer of six strings Jedd Kossew (Van Coke Kartel) and the woman who keeps it all together – songwriter extraordinaire, Adelle Nqeto. What? There is more? Arguably the most exciting rock ’n roll band to come out of South Africa in years: The Hellcats’ Allesandro Benigno and Warwick Rautenbach will not only be joining our Blood Brothers and Sister on stage, but will also be opening the show. It is a great honour to have Hunter Kennedy joining the company of rock royalty by lending his pen to write a #BB2018 song and making sure that this campaign lives on in your playlist long after the performances have ended.

This year, this formidable heroic force will also be bracing stages in both Pretoria and Cape Town, performing the songs that brought each of them to fame, intertwined with songs that influenced their sound over the years. The 2018 setlist promises to be more diverse than previous years and fans will be introduced to a whole new side of the band. Experience the rare opportunity to witness 11 of our best local rockers together on one stage for 3 hours of non-stop rock ’n roll.

It is only with persistence, that our country’s rock heroes together with The Vrede Foundation, will conquer this fight and be victorious in their quest to generate awareness regarding cancer and raise funds to provide financial aid to young South Africans with cancer.

A-list musicians.

Ek droom eerder terwyl ek wakker is.

Vulvodynia is kak hard!

So toe hulle my vra, toe sê ek ja. Ek dink dit help dat ek so baie gig. Connections bou.

Baie lekker. Metal is vreeslik universal en metalheads is baie dieselfde worldwide. Ons het baie hard gewerk. 28 shows in 29 dae en 20000+km.

Gaan jy bass jam of kitaar by Blood Brothers?

Dis badass.

We had a good run. Mal parties. Horries. Great music wat daar deur gekom het.

Jy is ‘n rocker van formaat! Wie is jou all time favourite band?

Slipknot.

So, laaste vragie oor Blood Brothers.
