Afro/indie rock band Ben Dey and the Concrete Lions has released their debut EP RISE on the 29th September. The seven-track EP marks the group’s biggest commercial release and follows the success of its single Easy Love, which topped the 5FM rock chart in 2016. Recorded at Popsicle Studios in Woodstock, Cape Town, the EP showcases the group’s most popular songs, including End of the Line, One Day and Up In Flames. “In the last year, the band has concentrated on its live set. Performances at Rocking the Daisies, Oppikoppi, Park Life, Bushfire Festival and Up The Creek has evolved our songs and the band finally feels ready to release an accurate narrative of these experiences,” says Ben Dey, the group’s vocalist. Made up of Ben Dey (lead vocals), Ongama Mona (lead guitar), Alex Birns (drums) and Dillon Birns (bass), the foursome share the same ambition, ideology and commitment which has been crucial from the get-go.
