Now I have seen my fair share of acts over the years, a few internationals and a lot of local acts. This list may not include a few of the best in your book because I have seen them or just don’t want to. But without further ado, here are they in no particular order:

1. Blink-182:

I would love nothing more to see these pop punkers live, I have been an avid fan since my primary school years and enjoyed their sense of humor and crude language. A show filled with Mark, Tom and Travis would be awesome, it may include male nudity and midgets, but fuck it. Just one little tiny problem, Travis Barker does not fly at all, well since his plane accident that he survived, so the only way to get them over is with a boat. That’s all right, I can wait.

2. Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl, that is all. The last real rock band on earth. You haven’t lived rock until you have seen the Foo’s, or so I have heard. So please make a plan to visit South Africa in the near future.

3. AC/DC

The energy that these guys bring to any show is evident in all their DVD’s and live performances, head banging and throwing the horns in a crowd with “Back in Black” being sung by one of the best front men ever can be described as a metal head’s wet dream.

4. Rise Against

Also being a huge fan of these guys I can only hope that they consider the tip of Africa some time soon, with their political and environmental messages they can be a big influence in some of the people here. Show may include a healthy dose of awesomeness.

5. KISS

Yes with all the fake blood, fire, make-up, lighting and leather. No compromise, if they come they need to come as KISS, not as anything else.

Honorable mentions: Green Day, The Bloodhound Gang, Tenacious D, Slipknot, Mumford and Sons, Journey, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, Bowling for Soup, Against Me, Iron Maiden, The Stooges, REM, My Chemical Romance, Anti Flag, Biffy Clyro, NOFX, The Black Keys, Coheed and Cambria and Madina Lake.

There you have it, if any of these are coming to SA, I will go no matter what. So who wants to buy a kidney?
