We loved the zombie apocalypse films 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. Danny Boyle directed the first film from a script written by Alex Garland, but they weren’t really involved with the sequel other than being executive producers. We may be crucified for this, but we think the sequel was better… Fans of zombie movies will be happy to hear that Garland and Boyle have been discussing a 28 Months Later movie! Garland revealed the news in an interview with IGN, saying: “We’ve got an idea. Danny [Boyle] and [producer] Andrew [Macdonald] and I have been having quite serious conversations about it so it is a possibility. It’s complicated.” “There’s a whole bunch of reasons why it’s complicated, which are boring so I won’t go into, but there’s a possibility.” “It’s more likely to be 28 Months than 28 Years. 28 Years gives you one more place to go. 28 Decades is probably taking the piss.” It does sound like there’s a possibility that we could get one or two more films. Hopefully Boyle will be on board to direct one or two of the films.
